7-Year-Old Jordan West Throws A Princess Party At Disney World For Young Girls In Foster Care

7-Year-Old Jordan West Brings Disney Dreams to Life for Foster Girls Through Her ‘Princess for a Day’ Mission

No matter the circumstances, 7-year-old Jordan West holds fast to a heartfelt belief: “Every girl deserves to be a princess for a day.”

Driven by that conviction, Jordan and her mother, Olivia West, raised nearly $10,000 to give 14 young girls—many of whom currently live in foster care—a chance to experience true royal magic at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

The special event, held on August 4, transformed dreams into reality. Each girl received Disney park passes, personalized gift bags, and her own princess gown. The day culminated in a magical visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Cinderella’s Castle, where they were treated to sparkling makeovers and crowned with tiaras—just like the Disney princesses they adore (source: CNN).

“We wanted it to be the best day ever,” Olivia West shared. “Learning about foster care and how some of these kids have had traumatic experiences, it’s nice to replace some of those memories with joyful ones” (source: Good Morning America).

From Small Beginnings to a Movement of Kindness

Jordan’s mission of kindness began long before Disney. Back in 2016, at just two years old, she hosted her first princess party at the Sweet and Sassy children’s spa in Pittsford, New York—an event where about 24 girls in foster care spent the day receiving royal treatment, complete with a limo ride to the salon. That first celebration planted the seed for what would later become a growing movement to uplift and empower young girls, especially those navigating difficult life circumstances (source: People).

Her compassion and leadership soon caught national attention. The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans invited Jordan to Washington, D.C., where she hosted another princess party—this time for 115 African American girls. There, she also shared her children’s book, “Champions of Change: Princess for a Day,” inspired by her own story of helping girls who were homeless or living in foster care.

“Jordan’s story reminds us that empathy and service have no age limit,” said a spokesperson for the initiative (source: The Washington Post).

‘Pennies for Princesses’: Turning Small Acts into Big Dreams

To fund her most ambitious princess party yet—the Disney trip—Jordan got creative. She organized garage sales, ran a lemonade stand, and launched a campaign called “Pennies for Princesses,” encouraging friends and family to contribute spare change. The initiative resonated with her community, drawing support through private donations and online fundraisers.

“She’s really excited to meet the girls,” Olivia said. “She writes affirmations for them—messages like ‘You are beautiful, you are loved.’ That really touches me as a mom. I hope she always carries that compassion with her.”

Jordan’s kindness has since inspired hundreds of supporters across the country. Teachers, local businesses, and even Disney fans have reached out to sponsor future princess events, helping ensure that the project continues to grow (source: ABC News).

A Legacy of Love, One Princess at a Time

What began as one little girl’s dream is now becoming a national symbol of empowerment. Jordan isn’t just creating magical experiences—she’s helping rewrite narratives for young girls who often feel unseen.

Her “Princess for a Day” project offers more than tiaras and tulle; it gives these girls confidence, belonging, and hope. As Olivia beautifully put it, “These moments remind them that they are worthy, special, and loved—and that’s what every child deserves.”

As for what’s next? Jordan hopes to expand her initiative beyond Florida—perhaps to California’s Disneyland or even international destinations. “I want every girl to feel like a princess, no matter where she lives,” she said in a recent interview (source: People).

And with her determination, compassion, and a touch of Disney magic, there’s no doubt that Jordan West will continue to sprinkle her Black girl magic across the world—one princess party at a time.
