Fans are cancelling their Disney+ subscriptions after the company’s response to Jimmy Kimmel’s Charlie Kirk comments.

The late night host saw his show indefinitely suspended by ABC after he commented on the political commentator’s death.

During his monologue on Monday (September 15), Kimmel said: “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the Maga gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

The following night on his show, Kimmel remarked: “Many in Maga-land are working very hard to capitalize on the murder of Charlie Kirk.”

The network, which is owned by Disney, has since suspended broadcasting indefinitely, with a spokesperson for ABC confirming that Kimmel’s show will be ‘pre-empted’, being another show will be broadcasted in its place.

The president took to his own social media platform Truth Social to react to the news, writing: “Great News for America. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.”

Many people have also posted their own thoughts online, with many sharing a similar sentiment.

On Reddit, one user said: “Just canceled my Disney+ and HULU subscription because ABC caved to Trump's and Carr's fascism.”

Another wrote: “Normally I pause my Hulu / Disney+ / ESPN+ subscription several times throughout the year but I’ve officially cancelled it.”

A third person commented: “I've had Disney plus since its release and just canceled my subscription, I watched everything I wanted to on that app anyways.”

And a fourth added: “I cancelled my bundle tonight. We can all live without these services. We don’t need them. They need us.”

Kirk was shot and killed while on stage at Utah Valley University (UVU) last Wednesday (September 10).

The political pundit was addressing a 3,000-strong crowd as part of his ‘American Comeback’ tour when a single gunshot was heard.

Kirk was struck in the neck and subsequently died from his injuries.

His funeral is set to take place this Sunday (September 21), at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, with Trump confirming that he will be in attendance.

The police have shared that there will be a ‘Superbowl-like’ security presence at the event.

The venue has a capacity of 63,000 and the funeral will be open to the public, with attendees required to provide their name, address, email and phone number.
