Sydney Sweeney Laughs Off Jokes About Her During Matt Rife’s Comedy Show — While Rumored Romance With Scooter Braun Heats Up

Sydney Sweeney proved she’s got a great sense of humor — even when she’s the punchline.

The Christy actress, 28, attended comedian Matt Rife’s show at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles on Tuesday night alongside her rumored boyfriend, music executive Scooter Braun, 44. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the couple arrived with a group of friends shortly before the show began, taking seats in the venue’s upstairs VIP section after Sweeney had earlier been spotted cheering at Game 4 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium.

The Joke’s On Sydney — and She’s Totally Fine With It

Opening act Jackson McQueen kicked off the evening by teasing the group, calling their area “the Groupon section,” drawing laughter from the crowd. But it was the next performer, Erik Griffin — known for his role in Workaholics — who delivered the night’s most daring jokes, taking aim at Sweeney’s breakout HBO series, Euphoria.

Griffin quipped about the show’s famously risqué scenes, saying, “She’s at the pharmacy and her titties are out — it’s wild. For no reason!” He went on to poke fun at the show’s abundance of nudity: “There’s just too much d—k on Euphoria. That wasn’t in the trailer!” (Los Angeles Times).

According to THR, Sweeney took the jokes in stride, doubling over in laughter along with Braun and their friends. Audience members reportedly turned to gauge her reaction — and were surprised to see her completely unfazed.

Keeping the Night Light

When Rife took the stage later, he avoided making jokes about Sweeney altogether. Instead, he performed an energetic set filled with his trademark mix of sexual humor and storytelling, riffing on topics such as impotence, masturbation, and a wild night in Amsterdam’s red-light district (Variety).

Sweeney and Braun reportedly slipped out just before midnight, leaving quietly before the show ended to avoid the post-show crowd. Representatives for Sweeney, Braun, and the Laugh Factory have not commented publicly (New York Post).

Rife’s Public Defense of Sweeney

This isn’t the first time Matt Rife has mentioned Sydney Sweeney publicly. Back in August, he came to her defense after she faced online backlash over her American Eagle campaign and her tongue-in-cheek “bathwater soap” promotion.

“She’s learning that the internet is full of absolute garbage losers who will twist anything you say into a c-nty misinterpretation,” Rife posted on X (formerly Twitter). “People are awful.” (Variety).

A Rumored Romance in Full Swing

Sweeney and Braun first sparked dating rumors in June, when they were spotted together at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s lavish wedding in Venice, Italy. In September, sources told People and TMZ that the pair were “casually hooking up.” However, insiders recently suggested the relationship has grown far more serious.

“It’s not a casual relationship. It’s game on — full throttle,” a source told Page Six. “They are together, and Scooter is very happy.”

Since then, the couple has been seen together several times, including a Labor Day weekend getaway in Lake Tahoe, a New York business meeting in early October, and even a Halloween event in Los Angeles where they were joined by Sweeney’s parents.

The Euphoria and Anyone But You star reportedly ended her engagement to businessman Jonathan Davino earlier this year, while Braun, who famously managed artists like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, has been finalizing his separation from his wife, Yael Cohen (People).

Sydney’s Star Power Continues to Rise

Despite the tabloid speculation, Sweeney remains one of Hollywood’s busiest rising stars.
