A Growing Mission
U.S.A.R. Drone Team has continued developing other rescue applications as well.
In January 2026, News 12 reported that the team had developed a drone-based system designed to deliver flotation equipment to people in ice and water emergencies. The concept is intended to allow assistance to reach someone quickly while reducing risks to rescuers.
The organization has also participated in missing-person and emergency-response operations.
But pet rescue remains one of the most visible examples of what the technology can accomplish.
Perhaps that is because the result is so easy to understand.
A dog is missing.
A drone goes up.
A heat signature appears.
The family gets its dog back.
There is no complicated explanation required.

Statistics help demonstrate scale.

But those numbers can hide what makes the work meaningful.
There was Abbie, traveling more than 20 miles after escaping near the New Jersey Turnpike before rescuers finally located her.
There was Shade, missing for roughly 27 hours before Parziale spotted him from the air in about 41 minutes.

And there was Jack, whose white fur almost disappeared against the snowy landscape until thermal imaging revealed where he was hiding.
