A Night to Remember: Dawsonville’s Gift of Sleep to Nine Children

In Dawsonville, Georgia, nine children recently received more than just furniture—they received dignity, comfort, and the promise of peaceful sleep. Thanks to the nonprofit organization Sleep in Heavenly Peace – GA Dawsonville, these children—who had previously slept on floors, couches, or shared mattresses—now have beds of their own.

The initiative was part of a larger community-driven effort to ensure that no child in Dawsonville sleeps without a proper bed. Volunteers gathered early at Midgard Storage, where they loaded handmade wooden bed frames, mattresses, pillows, and fresh linens into trucks. Each delivery was more than a drop-off—it was a moment of connection, compassion, and care.

Skip Sevier, the chapter president, shared, “We don’t just deliver beds. We deliver hope. We deliver a message that every child matters.”
