🎬 PART 2: «The Door Beside the Cabana»

The lifeguard picked up the key before the woman could hide it again.

The boy stood frozen beside him, clutching the empty towel against his chest like he was still trying to keep his sister warm.

“Please,” he whispered. “She’s scared of the dark.”

The rich woman stepped forward.

“You have no right.”

The lifeguard looked at the tiny sandal under the door.

“I have every right.”

He unlocked the storage room.

Hot air rushed out.

Inside, behind stacked beach chairs and folded umbrellas, the little girl was curled on the floor, red-faced, crying without strength. Her small fingers were wrapped around the other blue towel.

The boy screamed her name and dropped beside her.

“She followed her ball,” he sobbed. “I told you she went in.”

The lifeguard lifted the girl gently into the sunlight and checked her breathing.

She coughed, then cried.

The whole beach went silent.

The rich woman stepped backward, pale now.

“She was touching my things,” she whispered.

The lifeguard turned to her, disbelief turning into anger.

“So you locked a child in a storage room?”

The boy wrapped the towel around his sister’s shoulders, shaking as he held her.

The little girl looked up at him and whispered, “You found me.”

He pressed his forehead to hers and cried harder.

“I never stopped looking.”
