Snoop Dogg Is Hiring Someone to Travel, Eat Ice Cream and Get Paid $30,000 — And Yes, It’s a Real Job
For most people, eating ice cream is something they do after work.
Snoop Dogg is looking for someone who can make it part of the job.
The rapper and entrepreneur’s Dr. Bombay ice cream brand has opened applications for what may be one of the most unusual paid positions of 2026: an International Ice Cream Taster.
And despite sounding like the kind of dream job invented purely for social media, the position is real.
The successful applicant will receive $10,000 a month for three months, giving the contract a total advertised value of $30,000.
The assignment?
Taste frozen desserts.
Investigate emerging ice cream trends.
Explore unusual flavors and combinations.
Report discoveries back to the Dr. Bombay team.
Create social-first content about the experience.
And help Snoop Dogg and his team think about what the brand should make next.
Even more unusually, applicants do not have to live in Los Angeles, New York or another major American city.
The search is global.
Dr. Bombay is working with international payroll and hiring platform Deel to recruit, onboard and pay the selected person, and the official listing says candidates can apply from anywhere in the world.
The basic requirements are surprisingly short.
Applicants must speak English, have a valid passport and be available for the full three-month engagement.
Additional languages are considered an advantage.
There is no requirement that candidates have spent years working as professional food critics or trained chefs. In fact, the listing explicitly encourages people from a wide range of backgrounds — including creators, food lovers, marketers, students, journalists, entrepreneurs and chefs — to apply.
It is part dream job, part global flavor hunt and part content-creation assignment.
And underneath the playful idea is a serious business objective.
Dr. Bombay wants someone who can help identify what people around the world are eating now — and possibly what everyone will want to eat next.
Yes, the $30,000 Ice Cream Job Is Real
When a job advertisement promises $10,000 a month to eat ice cream, skepticism is understandable.
But this is not simply an internet rumor.
Deel has created an official application portal specifically for the International Ice Cream Taster role.
Its application page states that candidates have a chance to work alongside Snoop Dogg in the position for $10,000 per month.
A separate job posting from Dr. Bombay/Bosslady Foods gives even more detail.
The arrangement is a three-month independent-contractor engagement paying $10,000 in U.S. dollars each month, or $30,000 over the full contract.
The person will be hired and paid through Deel.
The listing says the selected contractor can work from wherever they are and receive payment through the platform, including into a local bank account and, where supported, in local currency.
NBC also independently reported on the opportunity on September 5, describing it as a real three-month contractor role with total compensation of $30,000 and applications open internationally.
That distinction — independent contractor rather than conventional employee — is worth noting.
This is not being advertised as a permanent corporate position with an indefinite salary.
It is a fixed, three-month project.
The $10,000 figure is monthly compensation for that project, rather than a promise of a $120,000-a-year permanent ice-cream-tasting career.
Still, $30,000 for three months of researching frozen desserts is enough to explain why the listing spread so rapidly online.
What Does an International Ice Cream Taster Actually Do?
The title makes the job sound straightforward.
Eat ice cream.
Give an opinion.
Collect a check.
The actual description is broader.
According to the official posting, the person will effectively become Dr. Bombay’s international observer for frozen-dessert culture.
The company summarizes the mission in four words:
“Taste. Travel. Discover. Report back.”
The successful candidate is expected to look for unusual desserts and new trends, explore flavor combinations across different cities and cultures, identify products or ideas gaining momentum and share those discoveries with the Dr. Bombay team.
That means the role combines several kinds of work.
There is product research.
There is trend forecasting.
There is brand strategy.
There is travel.
And there is content creation.
The taster will also be expected to create material suitable for social platforms while helping the company brainstorm potential flavors, marketing campaigns and consumer experiences.
In other words, Dr. Bombay is not simply looking for a person who knows whether chocolate ice cream tastes good.
The brand wants someone curious enough to ask why a particular dessert is suddenly appearing everywhere.
What ingredient is becoming popular?
Which flavors are going viral?
Are consumers becoming interested in spicy frozen desserts?
Are nostalgic flavors returning?
Is a dessert popular in one country likely to work somewhere else?
Which presentation styles are getting attention on TikTok, Instagram or other social platforms?
And which seemingly strange combination could become Dr. Bombay’s next successful product?
Those are commercial questions disguised inside a very entertaining job description.
Travel Is Part of the Assignment — But There Is an Important Detail
A number of social-media posts have summarized the role as essentially:
“Get paid $30,000 to travel the world and eat ice cream.”
That captures the spirit of the assignment, but there is an important distinction.
The official partnership announcement describes the position as fully remote, with regular check-ins and some travel expected.
The job listing also talks about tasting through different cities and cultures.
However, the public description does not promise unlimited international travel or explicitly state that every travel expense anywhere in the world will automatically be paid by the company.
So anyone applying should read the final contract carefully rather than assuming that “international taster” means three months of unrestricted company-funded vacations.
What is confirmed is that geography is not supposed to determine who can apply.
A candidate does not have to relocate to an American corporate headquarters simply to enter the competition.
That global approach is central to the partnership with Deel.
Why Deel Is Involved
Deel is a global HR, payroll and compliance platform designed to help companies hire and pay workers across national borders.
Its own website says it works across more than 150 countries and serves more than 40,000 customers.
For Dr. Bombay, that infrastructure makes an international search much easier.
Hiring someone in another country is more complicated than simply sending them money.
Businesses may have to deal with different contracts, payment methods, currencies, tax systems, worker classifications and local regulations.
Deel’s role is to provide the infrastructure that allows Dr. Bombay to treat the recruitment process as genuinely global rather than advertising internationally and ultimately hiring only someone who already lives in the United States.
The company has leaned heavily into that message in promoting the campaign.
