Vogue Williams confirmed as I'm A Celeb latecomer as she shares 'real worry'

Irish television personality Vogue Williams has finally broken her silence on joining I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! as a “latecomer,” entering the jungle alongside Celebs Go Dating star Tom Read Wilson. She spoke to The Mirror ahead of her arrival on Thursday, revealing a mix of excitement, nerves, and playful ambition.

At 40, Vogue admitted she signed up to challenge herself. “I am too comfortable in life,” she confessed, noting she even sleeps with four pillows just for her own comfort. She said that turning 40 was a wake-up call — she wanted to push herself out of her routine and do something truly unpredictable.

One of the more surprising revelations in her interview was her strategy for the jungle: she wants to adopt a mischievous game style, comparing her approach to the BBC show Traitors. “I would not mind causing a bit of mischief, a bit like Traitors vibes,” Vogue laughed. “I don’t want to annoy anyone, but I think I am very much willing to go along with the game.”

However, her biggest concern isn’t the Bushtucker Trials — it’s being apart from her family. Vogue and her husband, Spencer Matthews (formerly of Made in Chelsea), are parents to three children: Theodore (six), Gigi (four), and Otto (three). She admitted: “My only real worry is missing the kids and missing Spencer and missing my family.”  The Independent similarly reported that she fears being away from her children more than any of the show's challenges.

To prepare for her absence, Vogue has meticulously organized her home life. She told the Mirror that she completed her Christmas shopping, stockpiled food for four weeks, and arranged everything at home so she won’t have to worry while she’s in the jungle.

Her decision to join the show comes with an interesting family backstory: her husband Spencer previously appeared on I’m A Celebrity in 2015 but left under a cloud after it was revealed he had concealed steroid use.  Vogue noted that she had to tread carefully when telling her children about her plans. “I had to be careful telling my kids, because they have a bigger mouth than me,” she joked.  To get them on board, she showed them past episodes of the show — especially ones where contestants struggled with rats and other jungle horrors — and they absolutely loved it.

In a candid reflection on leaving her daily responsibilities behind, Vogue said the oddest thing about arriving in Australia is that she no longer has to wake up thinking about her kids and organizing their day. “It is very relaxing,” she said.

Part of her motivation, she revealed, stems from the fact that she reached a comfortable plateau in her personal life. “I started to get stuck in my ways,” Vogue admitted. She likes routines — how she walks, how she arranges her life — but she felt it was time to shake things up.

Adding to the challenge, Vogue also revealed that her phone was taken away by production soon after arriving. To her surprise, she wasn’t bothered at all. “I have not watched the last two episodes of Selling Sunset but we will wait till I get back,” she said with a laugh.

Her entry comes with a twist: according to TV Guide, she and Tom Read Wilson are not just late arrivals — they’ll assume leadership roles in the camp.  As “Chief Explorers,” they’ll stay in a luxurious “Leaders’ Lodge” and issue orders to the original campmates, dubbed “Bush Explorers.”

Vogue has called this “a massive life experience” and said that doing the show isn’t something you can simply pay to do — it’s something she needs to do for herself.  Her husband, meanwhile, has shared a heartfelt tribute: on Instagram, Spencer called her “extraordinary” and praised her courage.  Notably, he won’t be there to greet her if she leaves over the famous jungle bridge — he’s currently undertaking a grueling endurance challenge of his own, aiming to complete seven Ironman triathlons on seven continents in 21 days.
