Among the people moved by the post was a local stranger who learned that Cody had been saving for an electric bike.
According to later coverage by Inside Edition, the man was Adam Bailey.
Bailey was impressed not only that Cody had returned the wallet, but that he had done so while trying to save money for something he desperately wanted.
That distinction mattered.

The electric bike Cody had wanted carried a price tag approaching $4,000, according to Arizona's Family.
That is far more than the roughly $300 he returned.
But treating the story as a simple financial equation misses its point.
Cody did not return $300 because he expected a $4,000 reward.
When he found the wallet, he had no reason to believe anyone outside his family would even hear about what he had done.
The owner could have thanked him, taken the wallet home and disappeared from his life forever.
