This precaution is different from finding dead man’s fingers in an ordinary bag of wood mulch with no nearby tree decline.

Without decomposers such as fungi, forests and gardens would accumulate enormous amounts of dead wood and plant debris.

They may be unpleasant to look at, but they are not invading the yard without purpose.
