Eat boiled bananas at this time, and after just one week your body will experience 7 changes: excess fat melts away and your skin becomes smoother and brighter

Eating Boiled Bananas May Help with Weight Loss – But Timing Is Key

Eating boiled bananas can be an effective way to support weight loss, especially for women. However, to maximize its benefits, timing matters.

According to Traditional Medicine Practitioner Vũ Quốc Trung (Hanoi Oriental Medicine Association), bananas are naturally sweet and cooling, with functions such as moistening the intestines, clearing heat, and detoxifying the body.

Eating raw bananas is already healthy, but boiling them enhances their effects. Once boiled, the fiber and pectin content in bananas increase. At the same time, vitamins and minerals don’t disappear—instead, they become easier for the body to absorb.

Boiled bananas help you feel full for longer, curb cravings, and reduce fat accumulation, making weight control easier.

The best times to eat boiled bananas are:

  • 30 minutes before lunch or dinner, or

  • after morning exercise.

Eating them at these times creates satiety, reduces overeating, and boosts weight-loss efficiency.

Health Benefits of Eating Boiled Bananas

1. Relieves Constipation

One hundred grams of bananas contain about 2.6 g of fiber, which helps cleanse the intestines. Bananas also contain resistant starch, which keeps bowel movements smooth and supports waste elimination.

Tip: Boil 2–3 bananas with their peels and eat them whole for optimal digestive support.

2. Reduces Gastric Ulcers

Boiled green bananas are rich in tannins, which provide anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects beneficial for the stomach. They also contain pectin, which can form a protective fermented layer that shields the stomach lining from damage.

3. Regulates Blood Pressure

Bananas are high in potassium, which helps regulate blood pressure and prevent hypertension. Potassium also relieves muscle cramps and supports healthy nerve function.

4. Supports Stroke Prevention

According to General Practitioner Bùi Đắc Sáng (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Hanoi Oriental Medicine Association), bananas are not just food but also considered medicine in traditional practice.

Boiled bananas have a high level of antioxidants, which increase nitric oxide in the body. This widens blood vessels, improves oxygen delivery, and reduces the risk of stroke.

5. Good for Heart Health

Thanks to their high fiber content, boiled bananas are also heart-friendly. A study from Leeds University (UK) showed that fiber-rich foods like bananas reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

6. Improves Skin Health

Women who eat boiled bananas regularly benefit from healthier skin. Bananas are rich in vitamin A, protein, and antioxidants, which help repair and nourish the skin from within. Boiling enhances nutrient absorption, making them even more effective for beauty care.

7. Helps Stabilize Blood Sugar

Bananas have a low glycemic index (GI). Green bananas score around 30, while ripe bananas score about 60. This means eating bananas—especially boiled—does not cause a sudden spike in blood sugar, making them suitable for people managing blood sugar levels.

Notes on Eating Boiled Bananas

  • Do not overeat: limit to no more than 2 bananas per day, according to Vũ Quốc Trung.

  • Choose small to medium bananas with yellow, ripe skins for the best nutrition.

  • Boil for 15–20 minutes to retain nutrients while ensuring good texture and flavor.

👉 Eating boiled bananas at the right time offers a wide range of health benefits—from aiding digestion and weight loss to protecting the heart and skin. When enjoyed sensibly, they can be a simple yet powerful addition to your daily diet.
