Learn from the Japanese by soaking bananas in this water: Get a longevity food, not everyone knows

Bananas, Whether Green or Ripe, Are Good for Your Health — Even Considered a Longevity Food in Japan When Soaked in Vinegar

Vietnam has many fruits that are excellent for health and very easy to find. Bananas are one of them. This fruit, whether green or ripe, is beneficial to health and is even considered a “longevity food” by the Japanese when soaked in vinegar — offering surprising health benefits.

Banana Vinegar Helps Control Blood Sugar

Bananas soaked in vinegar are regarded by health experts as highly beneficial for overall well-being. This is a healthy eating and drinking habit that originated in Japan.
A Japanese professor who had consumed this mixture for 47 years shared with the media that her health had significantly improved — she felt less tired, caught fewer colds, and saw remarkable improvement in her chronic constipation.

Regardless of whether they are green or ripe, bananas are great for your health. With their naturally sweet flavor and rich nutritional value, they are loved by many.
Doctors in Japan report that banana vinegar can help lower blood pressure, control blood sugar levels, and improve digestive function. The citric acid in vinegar promotes the metabolism of sugar and lipids in the body, preventing fat accumulation.

According to research, 100 grams of ripe bananas contain about 74g of water, 0.4g of organic acids, 22.4g of glucid (carbohydrates), 1.5g of protein, and 0.8g of cellulose, providing around 100 calories.
The high glucid content in ripe bananas — including glucose (20%), fructose (1.5%), and sucrose (65%) — are all natural sugars that are easy to digest and provide abundant energy.

Ripe bananas are often used medicinally, especially the “chuối tiêu” variety. They help soothe the digestive tract, promote wound healing in intestinal ulcers, and relieve disorders of the intestines and stomach, particularly in cases of acute and chronic diarrhea or constipation.

How to Make Banana Vinegar

Ingredients:

  • 100g ripe banana

  • 200ml vinegar

  • 100g rock sugar or brown sugar

Instructions:

  1. Peel the bananas and slice them into pieces about 2–3 cm thick.

  2. Place the banana slices into a glass jar, then add the vinegar and sugar.

  3. Put the jar in the microwave for about 40 seconds at 500W.

  4. Remove the jar, let it cool, then close the lid tightly.
Store it at room temperature or in the refrigerator for later use.

How to Use Banana Vinegar Effectively

Experts recommend consuming one tablespoon of banana vinegar liquid a few minutes before meals to stimulate digestion.
For those with high blood pressure, drink it in the evening. It’s better to mix it with a little warm water before drinking.

However, people with stomach or duodenal ulcers should avoid it, and it’s best to consult a doctor before use to ensure safety.

In addition, if you eat bananas directly, avoid consuming other sugary foods immediately afterward.
Eat bananas 15 minutes before meals or 45–60 minutes before exercising to provide your body with essential nutrients while maintaining an optimal weight.
