NFL on Fox celebrates Pam Oliver’s Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame induction
“I still can’t quite believe it — it doesn’t feel real yet.”
Veteran Fox Sports reporter Pam Oliver has officially been inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame, and her milestone achievement was celebrated by the entire NFL on Fox team. The moment served as a fitting tribute to one of the most respected and enduring sideline reporters in NFL history.
Oliver was in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, working as the sideline reporter for the matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders. Meanwhile, the Fox NFL Sunday pregame crew — Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, and Rob Gronkowski — shared their congratulations from Los Angeles during a live video segment ahead of Saturday night’s NFL doubleheader.
“Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce a Hall of Famer,” Menefee announced proudly as the rest of the panel applauded and voiced their support. “Pam Oliver was inducted Tuesday night into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame. It’s an honor that is incredibly well deserved.”
The crew followed with a collective round of congratulations, clearly thrilled to recognize their longtime colleague.
Oliver paused for several moments, visibly moved as she processed the recognition and the outpouring of appreciation.
“She’s being modest — and when has Pam ever been shy?” Menefee joked, lightening the moment.
“Speech, Pam!” Strahan added. “We need a speech!”
Reflecting on the experience, Oliver described the evening as unforgettable. “It was truly a magical night,” she said. “I still can’t believe it. I feel like I’m floating — my feet haven’t touched the ground yet. I owe so much to Fox for giving me the opportunity over all these years to grow, learn, and flourish. That support played a huge role in why I’m standing here today as a Hall of Famer. I never imagined I’d be saying those words, but I couldn’t be more grateful.”
Menefee echoed the sentiment, emphasizing Oliver’s impact on the industry. “There’s no one more deserving than Pam,” he said.
Oliver’s broadcasting career began in 1985 and included notable stops at ESPN before she joined Fox Sports in 1995. She became a familiar and trusted presence on NFL sidelines during the iconic era of Pat Summerall and John Madden in the broadcast booth. Decades later, she continues to cover the league with the same professionalism and credibility, earning admiration not only from her colleagues but also from NFL stars such as Aaron Rodgers.
Her induction into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame stands as a testament to her longevity, influence, and excellence — and to the trail she helped blaze for future generations of sports journalists.
