REPORTERS pushed through security.

Cameras flashed everywhere.

Richard tried grabbing the DNA test, but his wife snatched it first with weak trembling hands.

She stared at the paper silently.

Then laughed.

Not a normal laugh.

A terrifying one.

WIFE:
“You really thought I didn’t know?”

The entire room went silent.

The pregnant woman looked confused.

RICHARD:

The wife slowly sat upright in bed.

WIFE:
“She’s not your mistress.”

Everyone froze.

The pregnant woman’s eyes widened.

Richard stepped backward like he’d been punched.

“That’s impossible…”

“You abandoned her mother twenty-two years ago.”

The pregnant woman began shaking violently.

The wife grabbed another folder from beneath her blanket and threw it onto the bed.

Old photographs scattered everywhere.

Young Richard.
A crying woman.
A newborn baby.

The same necklace.

The same eyes.

The pregnant woman covered her mouth in horror.

RICHARD could barely breathe now.

the hospital room television suddenly turned on by itself.

A hidden surveillance video started playing.
