PART 2: “YOU DID THIS TO ME!! THIS IS YOUR FAULT!!”

The night was alive.

Neon lights reflecting on wet pavement.

Engines humming.

People moving without noticing each other.

Until—

everything stopped.

A violent splash hit the car.

Dirty water spread across the shining surface.

Phones went up instantly.

Gasps filled the air.

And there he was.

A small boy.

Clothes torn.

Face wet—not just from the rain.

From something deeper.

“YOU DID THIS TO ME!! THIS IS YOUR FAULT!!”

His voice broke through the street like a crack in glass.

The car door flew open.

She stepped out.

Perfect.

Untouchable.

Furious.

“ARE YOU INSANE?! YOU LITTLE IDIOT!!”

The crowd leaned in.

Watching.

Waiting.

The boy didn’t step back.

Didn’t run.

He stepped closer.

Closer than anyone expected.

His hands were shaking.

But his eyes—

burning.

“You left us… you drove away… you didn’t even look back…”

Something shifted.

Just slightly.

Her anger paused.

Confusion flickered.

Like a memory trying to break through.

The boy reached into his jacket.

Pulled out something small.

Old.

Worn.

A photo.

The camera moved closer.

Rain dripping from its edges.

He held it up.

And everything changed.

It was her.

Younger.

Holding a baby.

Holding him.

“My mom said… you were my mother…”

Silence hit.

Not gradual.

Not soft.

Total.

The kind of silence that swallows everything.

Her face changed.

Not all at once.

Shock.

Then denial.

Then something deeper.

Her hand dropped slowly.

Her breathing broke.

“…that’s not possible…”

But her eyes said something else.

The boy stepped back.

Just a little.

Like he had said everything he could.

Like he had waited his whole life for this moment—

and now it was over.

“I waited… every day…”

The words didn’t echo.

They didn’t need to.

Because everyone felt them.

The crowd didn’t move.

Didn’t speak.

Didn’t even breathe.

And in that frozen moment—

between truth and denial—

between past and present—

everything was about to break—

…and then—

darkness.
