Popular mukbang YouTuber Haetnim The Short Mouth has announced some unfortunate news.

On June 24, she posted a message through her YouTube community tab that she would be halting activities for now.

“Hey guys! I have some unfortunate news to bring to you. Those who watched my live broadcast yesterday already know, but I overcooked my crispy pork belly so it was really crispy and hard. I think that was the problem.

Near the end of my broadcast, my voice started getting hoarse, and after the broadcast, my throat started to hurt every time I swallowed my saliva (it even hurts now…). I spent the night in pain with a body ache and felt like my whole body was getting beat.

The next morning I went to the hospital and they said that I had a lot of infections in my throat and it was very swollen. They told me not to talk. The only type of food I can eat now is rice porridge…

Aside from not being able to eat, my voice isn’t coming out at all so I’m going to have to rest a few days and start live broadcasts after my voice returns.

I am so frustrated because I can’t speak. I can’t believe it is this hard to eat something, let alone swallow my saliva. It makes me wonder how much happiness and benefits I have had all this time and makes me reflect on myself. I will always be grateful!
