Soaking grapefruit and citrus peels in white vinegar helps resolve many household problems; not doing this would be a waste.

Citrus peels are often thrown away, but it turns out they have countless surprising uses that many people don't know about.

When we eat grapefruit, oranges, or tangerines, we usually throw away the peels, but in fact, grapefruit, orange, and tangerine peels have many uses. Simply chopping them up and soaking them in white vinegar can create many beneficial effects.

How to make grapefruit, orange, and tangerine peels pickled in white vinegar.

Before eating grapefruit, oranges, and tangerines, clean the peels thoroughly. After peeling, keep the peels and chop them into small pieces. Then, soak these peels in white vinegar until completely submerged. If they are not fully submerged, shake them gently for the first few days to prevent the peel from sticking to the surface.

Leave this jar in a cool, airy place for about two weeks, and you will see the essential oils from the grapefruit, orange, and tangerine peels seep into the brine. At this point, you can filter out the peels and keep the brine for the following uses:

Remove yellow grease stains from clothes.

You can pour a solution of vinegar mixed with citrus fruits like oranges and grapefruit onto yellow stains and grease stains on clothes and rub by hand. Afterwards, use laundry detergent. This method helps clean clothes much more effectively and leaves a pleasant fragrance in the house.

Kitchen cleaning

You can also use the vinegar and grapefruit peel mixture to spray on areas that need cleaning in the kitchen, such as the stovetop, microwave, and oven. Simply spray this solution on the stovetop and leave it for a few minutes, then wipe it with a cloth to clean and freshen the kitchen.

Polish steel surfaces such as faucets.

You can spray a solution of vinegar and citrus peels onto faucets and stainless steel appliances to scrub them clean.

Eliminate shoe odor.

When you wear shoes for a long time or in humid weather, they can develop an unpleasant odor. Spray a solution of vinegar and citrus juice into your shoes and leave it overnight. The next day, you'll see surprising results; your shoes will be odor-free and smell much better.

Removing food odors from clothes

If you haven't had time to wash your clothes but they've become tainted with food odors from eating hot pot, barbecue, etc., hang them up and spray the mixture on them before hanging them outside in the wind. This mixture will help remove food odors from the fabric.

Facial cleansing

A mixture of vinegar and grapefruit/citrus juice can be used to wash your face, but it should be diluted to avoid the high concentration of vinegar. You can use it occasionally for cleansing.

Room freshener spray

You can use the above solution mixture to clean the floor or spray it into the air to help make the room fresher and smell cleaner.

Use it to wash dishes.

When you need a natural dishwashing solution to remove the fishy smell from dishes or to wash your hands after handling fish, use a solution of vinegar mixed with grapefruit or citrus fruits; they will help you remove the fishy smell more effectively.
