Teddi Mellencamp Shares Emotional Update: “No Detectable Cancer” After Stage 4 Diagnosis
Reality star and podcast host Teddi Mellencamp has shared a major health update: her stage 4 melanoma is currently undetectable. The 44-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member revealed the news on Friday’s episode of her podcast Two T’s in a Pod, telling guest co-host Dolores Catania that her most recent scans came back clear.
“Just to give a little life update to you guys, I had my immunotherapy yesterday and I did my scans, and at this point there is no detectable cancer,” Mellencamp said. “When they told me, I was in such shock. I was like, numb.” (People)
Continuing the Fight
Despite the good news, Mellencamp was careful to clarify that she is not in remission yet.
“I’m still going to be having days when I’m feeling sick because I’m still in immunotherapy, so I’m still fighting,” she explained. “The way the doctors said it works, it’s like — one year, then two years, then at three years you’re allowed to be considered in remission. But this was huge news.” (Page Six)
Doctors have previously warned Mellencamp that her ongoing treatments would take a toll on her body, and she has openly discussed the side effects on her podcast. Earlier this year, she revealed that she had to pause immunotherapy because the medications were leaving her feeling “so sick” and depleted. “They did a bunch of scans and everything’s looking good, everything’s shrinking,” she said at the time. “But it’s showing that’s why I medically feel so sick.”
A Long, Public Battle with Melanoma
Mellencamp was first diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022 after a routine skin check led to multiple biopsies. Over the past three years, she has undergone numerous surgeries and treatments, documenting her journey on social media in an effort to raise awareness about the dangers of sun exposure and the importance of regular skin screenings.
In April 2025, Mellencamp revealed that her cancer had spread to her brain and lungs, officially progressing to stage 4 melanoma, one of the deadliest forms of skin cancer. At the time, she described her diagnosis as “terrifying” but vowed to continue fighting, crediting her family and fans for keeping her motivated. (Entertainment Tonight)
Raising Awareness
Throughout her health journey, Mellencamp has used her platform to encourage her followers to take preventative steps. “Please, please, please get your skin checked,” she urged fans in a recent Instagram post. “I can’t stress this enough. It could save your life.”
Her transparency has been widely praised by both fans and medical professionals. Dermatologists note that cases like Mellencamp’s highlight how even individuals who appear outwardly healthy and active can be at risk of aggressive skin cancers if warning signs are missed.
Looking Ahead
For now, Mellencamp says she is grateful for her progress, though she knows the battle isn’t over. “I still have a long road, and there are going to be hard days ahead,” she told listeners. “But right now, I’m celebrating the fact that I got this news — and I’m holding on to that.”
