Why do smart people never keep hot and cold water dispensers in the house? The reason is very reasonable

A hot and cold water dispenser can provide you with convenience, but it also has some drawbacks that are hard to overcome.

The hot and cold water dispenser is a very common appliance, found in many homes and offices, usually in the form of a reverse-upside-down water bottle. This device splits the water into two sources: hot and cold, with two separate faucets, to serve the needs of different users. Using such a dispenser can meet multiple needs at once: cold water for direct drinking, and hot water for making tea, cooking instant noodles, etc., without needing to store cold water in the fridge or boil water separately.

In the past, hot and cold water dispensers were commonly chosen by many offices and families due to their convenience.

A hot and cold water dispenser needs to be plugged in regularly and has an automatic shut-off feature when the hot or cold tank is full or when there is an overload. Some models also have an additional compartment for storing fruits or cold water.

Although this appliance is convenient, it also has some inherent disadvantages. As a result, many people no longer prefer this type of water dispenser.

Hygiene Issues

The hot and cold water dispenser may come with one or more water filters. Over time, dirt can accumulate in the filters, reducing the filtration ability. Additionally, if the dispenser is not cleaned regularly, dirt, bacteria, and mold can build up, far exceeding safety standards.

Not everyone pays attention to hygiene during the use of the water dispenser. In some cases, green algae may appear in the water filters if they are not cleaned frequently.

High Costs

The cost of a hot and cold water dispenser is relatively high. Moreover, you will also have to pay for water bottles that are compatible with the dispenser.

Not only that, but the transportation and replacement of the water bottles are not simple, as many bottles are large and heavy, making it difficult for everyone to change the bottles easily.

The hot and cold water dispenser may bring convenience, but it also has its drawbacks. Additionally, the quality of the hot water in the dispenser is another issue that needs attention. Not all types of water guarantee quality. In some cases, production facilities, driven by profit, may use low-quality water to fill the bottles they sell to customers. Consuming such low-quality water for daily use poses potential health risks.

Not Environmentally Friendly

Most of the water bottles used today are made of plastic. They are reusable, but there are limits to this. Over time, the quality of the bottles deteriorates, and they can no longer hold water, becoming plastic waste. This plastic can be recycled into other products, but it can also just become waste. Improper plastic waste disposal poses a risk of soil and water pollution over time.

Currently, many households are switching to using water filtration systems connected to the water pipeline in their homes, so they can drink water directly from the faucet without needing to use water bottles or dispensers. Some high-end devices can provide water at different temperatures, catering to the various needs of users.
