Masterful Painting Of Jesus By 8-Year-Old—Says She Saw The True Face Of Jesus

At just eight years old, Akiane Kramarik stunned the world by painting what she believed was the true face of Jesus. After being lost, hidden, and nearly forgotten for 16 years, her masterpiece “Prince of Peace” has finally returned to the light—alo

When most children are still learning to color inside the lines, an eight-year-old girl from Idaho was painting what would later be hailed as one of the most iconic religious portraits of modern times. Akiane Kramarik’s “Prince of Peace”—a striking depiction of Jesus Christ inspired by what she called “visions from God”—has lived a journey almost as miraculous as the story behind its creation.

Stolen, wrongly sold, and kept hidden away in darkness for over 16 years, the painting was feared lost forever. Yet, in an astonishing turn of fate, the work resurfaced in 2019 and was restored to glory, now valued at nearly $1 million.

Today, Akiane is 28 years old, a best-selling author, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. But the roots of her story stretch back to a childhood filled not only with creativity but with visions that seemed to defy the beliefs of her own nonreligious family.

A Child Prodigy and a Divine Calling

When Akiane appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show at just nine years old, the world saw her brilliance firsthand. Showing Oprah her painting, the host asked, “You’re obviously gifted. Where does this come from?” To which Akiane replied without hesitation: “It comes from God.”

At age 10, she was again asked how she knew it was God speaking to her. Her response was equally profound: “Because I hear His voice. His voice is quiet and beautiful.”

The irony is that Akiane grew up in a home where God was never discussed. Her mother, Forelli Kramarik, explained: “It wasn’t just art that was happening. Simultaneous with art was a spiritual awakening.” Raised in an atheistic Lithuanian family, Forelli admitted: “We didn’t pray together, we didn’t go to church. Then suddenly, Akiane was starting to talk about God.”

Akiane was home-schooled, with no television, babysitters, or outside influences. Her parents were baffled by their daughter’s visions, which she described in vivid detail: conversations about God’s love, His presence, and His guidance.

The Vision That Became ‘Prince of Peace’

According to Akiane, “Prince of Peace” came from a dream too powerful to describe in words. “I always think about Jesus and talk about Him,” she explained. Searching for a model, she prayed with her family for God to send someone. Soon after, a tall carpenter—eerily resembling her vision of Christ—knocked on their door seeking work.

Upon seeing him, Akiane whispered to her mother, “That was him. I want him to be my model.”

Using her meticulous brushstrokes, the child prodigy painted the now-famous portrait. Critics marveled at the detail, depth, and maturity far beyond her years.

A Painting’s Dark Journey

On its way to an exhibition, “Prince of Peace” was stolen. When it was eventually returned, it was covered in sawdust, as though fate itself was trying to bury its brilliance. A clerical mishap later forced the Kramarik family to sell the painting. A private collector purchased it, keeping it locked away in a dark stairwell for years—effectively silencing a piece of spiritual art that had already touched millions.

Despite losing her masterpiece, Akiane pressed on. She painted hundreds of works, sold over 100,000 prints, and traveled to more than 30 countries, sharing her vision of peace and faith. Yet deep down, she held onto hope that one day she would be reunited with “Prince of Peace.”

The Miraculous Return

That hope became reality in 2019 when the painting was finally recovered. It was later revealed that a family paid $850,000 for the work, describing themselves not as owners but as “stewards.” According to reports, the family believed it was their mission “to protect this masterpiece for generations to come, so it can touch millions more lives with its story.”

When Akiane finally saw her painting again, she broke down in tears. In an interview with CBS, she said: “It was amazing to me… To be able to see this into the light again, after so many years.”

She added: “It’s still surreal to me. I’m not gonna lie… Love is so powerful. It will always show up on time to people who need it most.”

Legacy of a Visionary

Now showcased at the Belóved Gallery in Marble Falls, Texas, Akiane’s “Prince of Peace” continues to draw pilgrims, art lovers, and skeptics alike. For some, it is a miraculous confirmation of faith; for others, it is the hauntingly beautiful work of an unexplainable prodigy.

What remains undeniable is that the young girl from Idaho, raised without religion, somehow created a work that has transcended cultures, languages, and beliefs—cementing her place in history as the painter of what many believe to be the “true face of Jesus.”
