Mix rice with this and leave it in the corner of the house, it will wipe out all the rats overnight.

Mix rice with this simple ingredient and place it in a corner of your home — it can drive away an entire colony of mice overnight.
This method is extremely easy to prepare yet surprisingly effective, helping you eliminate mice quickly and with relatively low risk.

Mice are unpleasant household pests. They chew on food, destroy furniture, and can spread bacteria along with various infectious diseases. What makes them even more troublesome is their rapid reproduction rate. Within a short time, a few mice can multiply into a large colony, causing significant damage throughout the house.

Many people resort to mouse traps or chemical rodenticides. However, these solutions may not always deliver the desired results and can pose safety risks, especially in homes with children or pets. Fortunately, there are several alternative methods that work well without relying on harsh chemicals. Below is one of the most effective natural approaches, followed by a few additional tips to help you keep your home mouse-free.

Eliminating Mice Using Rice

To try this method, prepare a small handful of rice, some cement powder, a little sesame oil, and a few disposable bowls (or pieces of cardboard if bowls aren’t available).

Step 1: Roast the rice
Toast the rice in a pan until the grains turn golden and release a fragrant aroma. Transfer the roasted rice to a bowl and add 2–3 spoonfuls of sesame oil. Mix well so the rice absorbs the oil.

Step 2: Add the cement
Sprinkle cement powder into the rice and combine thoroughly. Ensure the grains are well coated, as this increases the effectiveness of the mixture.

Step 3: Place the mixture strategically
Divide the mixture into several small portions and place them in areas where mice frequently appear—under cabinets, behind the stove, in dark corners, or near storage areas. Adjust the amount depending on how many bait spots you want to create.

The aroma of roasted rice mixed with sesame oil attracts mice. After eating the mixture, mice will naturally seek water. When the cement interacts with water, it hardens inside their digestive system, leading to intestinal blockage. As a result, the mice will not survive, effectively reducing their population in a very short time.

For best results, check the bait daily and replace it every few days to ensure the scent remains fresh. Also, avoid placing the mixture where children or pets can reach it.

Additional Tips for Repelling Mice

1. Using Vinegar

Prepare a few cotton balls and soak them thoroughly in vinegar until they are completely saturated. Place the cotton balls in areas where mice usually pass through—inside kitchen cabinets, under the sink, behind wardrobes, or in cracks and openings they use as entry points.

Mice dislike the strong smell of vinegar and will avoid places where the scent is present. Once the cotton dries out and loses its odor, replace it with freshly soaked cotton balls.

2. Using Laundry Detergent

Mix laundry detergent with a small amount of water to create a thick solution, then stir in a teaspoon of coffee powder. Place this mixture in bowls or small containers in the areas frequently visited by mice.
The combined scent of detergent and coffee creates a strong repelling effect, discouraging mice from coming near.

Additional Note

For long-term prevention, consider sealing any gaps or holes in walls, floors, or around plumbing fixtures. Keeping the home tidy, especially food storage areas, also minimizes the chance of attracting new mice.
