šŸŽ¬ PART 2: Ā«The Groom Who Almost Drank His Mother’s SilenceĀ»

Daniel stared at the maid like the room had vanished around them.

ā€œNo,ā€ he whispered. ā€œMy mother died when I was born.ā€

The bride’s mother stepped backward, her face drained of color.

The maid shook her head through tears.

ā€œI was seventeen. I worked in your father’s house. When you were born, they told me you didn’t survive.ā€

Daniel’s hands began to tremble around the phone.

The bride looked from her mother to the maid.

ā€œMom,ā€ she whispered, horrified. ā€œWhat did you do?ā€

Her mother tried to speak, but the maid reached into her apron and pulled out a folded hospital bracelet.

Daniel’s name was printed on it.

His birth date.

And beneath it, the maid’s name listed as mother.

A sob broke out of him.

The bride covered her mouth as tears spilled down her face.

ā€œI didn’t know,ā€ she cried. ā€œDaniel, I swear I didn’t know.ā€

The maid stepped closer, afraid to touch him.

ā€œI came here as staff because I heard your name on the wedding list,ā€ she said. ā€œI only wanted to see your face once.ā€

Daniel looked at the shattered glass on the floor.

ā€œWhy poison me?ā€

The bride’s mother’s voice cracked. ā€œBecause once he married my daughter, he would control the estate. But if he found out who she was before signing the papers, everything would go back to her.ā€

She pointed at the maid with hatred.

ā€œTo the servant.ā€

The ballroom erupted in shock.

Daniel’s face changed.

Not with fear.

With grief.

He walked toward the maid slowly, his eyes red and wet.

ā€œYou saved me,ā€ he whispered.

She nodded, crying silently.

ā€œI couldn’t lose you twice.ā€

That broke him.

Daniel dropped to his knees in front of her and wrapped his arms around the mother he had spent his whole life mourning without knowing she was alive.

The bride stood behind them, sobbing as police entered the ballroom and took her mother away.

Daniel lifted his face from the maid’s shoulder.

ā€œWhat’s your name?ā€ he asked softly.

She touched his cheek with shaking fingers.

ā€œAnna.ā€

He closed his eyes, crying harder.

ā€œMy whole life,ā€ he whispered, ā€œI wished I knew my mother’s name.ā€

Anna held him tighter.

And beneath the chandeliers, beside the shattered glass that had almost taken him from her forever, Daniel finally heard the truth from the woman who had never stopped loving him.
