PART 2: They fell off a cliff together…

They fell off a cliff together…
but the real danger wasn’t the fall.

The path was too narrow.

Loose gravel shifting under every step.

Wind moving softly through the trees—

like a warning no one listened to.

Then—

a slip.

Sudden.

Violent.

Gravel scattered over the edge.

“Richard—!”

Her voice broke as the ground disappeared beneath them.

The world tilted—

then impact.

Hard.

Breath knocked out.

Silence swallowed everything.

They landed on a lower ledge.

Alive.

But barely.

She couldn’t move at first.

Just lay there—

trying to understand what had just happened.

The wind sounded louder now.

Colder.

She turned her head slowly.

“Richard…?”

He didn’t respond.

Didn’t move.

Too still.

Panic rose instantly.

Then—

his fingers twitched.

Alive.

Relief rushed in—

until he spoke.

“Don’t move… pretend.”

His voice was low.

Controlled.

Wrong.

Her heart stopped.

“…what?”

The camera moved closer.

He didn’t sit up.

Didn’t look at her directly.

“They’re watching.”

The words changed everything.

Footsteps echoed above them.

Faint.

Careful.

Shadows moved along the cliff edge.

Someone was there.

“…no one could survive that…”

The voice drifted down.

Distant.

Cold.

Her breath caught.

Because she knew that voice.

Ethan.

Her son.

Silence pressed down harder than the fall.

She stopped breathing.

Stopped thinking.

Only listening.

Only understanding.

Something inside her broke open.

The camera closed in on Richard’s face.

Still calm.

Still in control.

Like this was never chaos.

Like this was planned.

“This wasn’t an accident… and I helped them plan it.”

The words didn’t echo.

They didn’t need to.

Because they destroyed everything instantly.

Her eyes filled with shock.

Not from the fall—

from him.

From the truth.

Above them—

shadows shifted again.

Waiting.

Watching.

And now—

everything was clear.

They didn’t fall.

They were meant to.

The moment stretched—

right before the next move—

right before survival turned into something else—

…and then—

darkness.
