Celebrity memoirs are often marketed by promising that nothing has been withheld. Stallone instead acknowledged that some memories were too numerous, painful or disruptive to include.
A memoir is not a complete evidentiary archive. It is a person’s selected account of a life.
The fact that he omitted material does not prove additional allegations. It indicates that the published narrative represents only what he decided he was ready to discuss.

This connection is visible in the two characters that defined his career.
Rocky Balboa is lonely, underestimated and desperate for one opportunity to demonstrate that his life has value.
John Rambo is an injured outsider who has survived extreme experiences but cannot comfortably return to ordinary society.
Stallone has described Rocky as reflecting his struggle for recognition and Rambo as expressing a more damaged, rejected part of his personality.
That does not mean either character is a literal autobiography. Their emotional foundations, however, came from experiences Stallone understood intimately.
The Creation of Rocky
Before Rocky, Stallone faced years of rejection and severe financial hardship.
Agents and casting directors criticized his appearance, voice and manner of speaking—the same physical characteristics for which he had been mocked as a child.
He wrote the screenplay for Rocky when he was nearly broke.
Producers reportedly wanted the script but preferred a more established actor for the leading role. Stallone insisted that he play Rocky himself, even though refusing to sell without that condition could have cost him his best opportunity.
The film was released in 1976 and became a major success. It received 10 Academy Award nominations and won Best Picture.
