Terrence J Is Married to Mikalah Sultan! Inside Their 'Elegant' Dubai Wedding Officiated by Anthony Anderson (Exclusive)

Terrence J and Mikalah Sultan chose their favorite destination to begin the next chapter of their lives together, turning their love for travel into an unforgettable wedding celebration abroad.

The actor and former BET host, 43, whose full name is Terrence Jenkins, married model Mikalah Sultan, 27, in a wedding that was nothing short of refined and luxurious. The couple exchanged vows on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the ultra-luxury beachfront resort Atlantis The Royal in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Designed to be “elegant, classy, and timeless,” the ceremony featured a black-tie, all-black dress code paired with dramatic drapery, candlelight, and lush floral arrangements that elevated the entire atmosphere.

“The wedding is truly a dream come true,” Sultan tells PEOPLE exclusively. “Having everyone we love gathered in one place to celebrate the deep connection Terrence and I share is incredibly fulfilling. It’s a moment we’ll cherish forever.”

Around 130 guests traveled from the United States to attend the destination wedding, with many obtaining their passports for the very first time just for the occasion. Among the notable attendees was Black-ish star Anthony Anderson, 55, who officiated the ceremony and added a deeply personal touch to the couple’s vows.

“This was something truly unprecedented,” Terrence shares. “Bringing 130 people from the U.S. to another country to celebrate love and partnership is powerful. We’re merging cultures, bringing creatives together, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.”

Planning the wedding was no small feat. Terrence described it as “organizing a massive field trip,” given that guests arrived from all over the world. His U.S.-based team collaborated closely with local creatives in Dubai, resulting in what he calls a “true international collaboration” that reflected both global elegance and personal meaning.

The couple’s connection to Dubai runs deep. Years earlier, Terrence had traveled to the city with Sultan while filming a movie, and the two quickly fell in love with the region’s vibrant energy, hospitality, and culture. Wanting their guests to experience the same magic, they curated several immersive events leading up to the big day. These included a full day of sightseeing, a luxury yacht party, a desert safari dinner, and an all-white beach celebration at Cove Beach.

“Inviting our loved ones into an experience they’ve never had before was incredibly important to us,” Terrence explains. Sultan echoes the sentiment, adding, “This was about creating unforgettable memories while celebrating our love with the people who matter most. It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we’re beyond grateful.”

On the wedding day itself, Sultan made a breathtaking entrance walking down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The song held deep emotional significance—it was the first song the couple danced to after their engagement and also the last dance Sultan shared with her grandfather.

The ceremony honored loved ones who were no longer present, including Terrence’s late father and Sultan’s late grandfather. The couple exchanged deeply personal, handwritten vows before officially saying “I do,” a moment filled with emotion and reflection.

“To me, marriage is about choosing your best friend every single day,” Terrence says. “It’s about building a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support—through sickness and health, for the rest of our lives.”

The reception space continued the refined aesthetic, featuring white, ivory, and cream décor that exuded warmth and sophistication. Guests were entertained by an impressive lineup of performers, including a violinist, saxophonist, flutist, a live band, and belly dancers from Connect Entertainment. One of the evening’s most memorable moments came when the newlyweds surprised everyone with a fully choreographed waltz set to “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims.

“We’ve been taking dance lessons for months just to surprise our guests,” Sultan shares with a laugh.

For her special day, Sultan wore two custom gowns—one by Pronovias and another by Brides by Nona—while her hair and makeup were styled by A1hair Concierge and Glammed by Lika. Every detail was meticulously planned, but the couple agreed that the food was among the most impressive highlights.

Terrence revealed an indulgent, multi-stage dining experience that featured offerings from world-renowned restaurants. Guests enjoyed cold canapés and champagne before the ceremony, followed by hot canapés, a raw bar, and cocktails during cocktail hour. Dinner included a four-course seated meal highlighted by Carbone’s famous spicy rigatoni, while the after-hours menu featured truffle pizza and wagyu sliders.

Dessert was equally spectacular. The wedding cake, described as dramatic and extravagant, appeared to float. Terrence entrusted the cake designer with full creative freedom, resulting in a stunning showpiece worthy of the celebration.

Terrence and Sultan’s love story began in Manchester, England, where they first met and quickly became inseparable. Terrence proposed on Dec. 3, 2023, at the Perez Art Museum in Miami after renting out the rooftop and surprising Sultan with an engagement party surrounded by close friends and family.

Sultan says Terrence consistently makes her feel “safe, loved, and supported,” calling him her biggest cheerleader and best friend.

Now officially husband and wife, the newlyweds are focused on embracing life together with gratitude and excitement.

“Every day feels like an adventure,” Sultan says. “I’m always looking forward to our future. We still have so much life to experience, and every moment is a journey we share together.”

She adds simply, “Our life together is everything I ever hoped for.”
