The terrifying moment a woman was taunted by a stranger through her Ring doorbell has been shared online and it has sparked alarm bells for others.

In the creepy video, a voice can be heard coming from the doorbell claiming, ‘I’m watching you’.

The scary ordeal was captured on video after a woman shared the footage on social media to warn other people.

The clip was posted on TikTok by a user known as Brendajas26 where she revealed that she had taken the Ring camera inside her home to charge it.

The video shows her holding the device when a strange voice can be heard laughing and saying ‘I see you’.

In the description, the user wrote: “Brought my ring camera inside to charge and after sometime I noticed the blue light was on and when i walked closer that’s when i started hearing the creepy voice saying ‘I see you’. Ring camera gets hacked.”

The video has been viewed over 11 million times with many people taking to the TikTok comment section to share their own reactions to it.

One user wrote: “The camera is a fisheye lens so 360° so yes she sees you.”

Another said: “You guys need to start putting 2 factor authentication on all your accounts. I’ve had ring cameras for 6 years now and never had a problem.”

A third person commented: “There's a website where you can just go and look at any ring camera that doesn't have a password or didn't change the password.”

And a fourth added: “Saw a video of a guy in cybersecurity say that he and his wife don’t have ring cameras or smart devices bc of how easily they’re hacked.”

Speaking to the Daily Mail, cybersecurity expert James Knight explained: “There are two ways to get into them. One is to hack it directly. This is not easy and not likely. The second is to access the person’s account by guessing their password.

“If using the second way by getting into the person’s account by guessing their password, one would also need to know their email address.

“It’s not hard to find out someone’s email address. One doesn’t need to be a pro hacker.”

The woman in the video posted again two days after her initial clip went viral to share that she had changed the password on her Ring camera and hadn’t experienced any further issues.
