‘Will They Affect the Flips?’: Simone Biles’ Hourglass Shape in New Video Has Fans Zooming In as They Patiently Await Her Olympic Return
Simone Biles has finally ended the whispers — and confirmed the rumor fans have been dissecting for months.
During a relaxed and candid “girl talk” TikTok session, the Olympic champion opened up about the one topic social media commenters have been buzzing about: her noticeable new look. After weeks of online speculation surrounding whether Biles had undergone a cosmetic enhancement, the 27-year-old athlete put the conversation to rest by speaking directly — and unapologetically — to her fans.

The reveal comes after months of chatter from followers who believed they saw a change in her appearance. According to People magazine, social media users had been picking apart recent photos and public appearances, pointing out what they thought was an “obvious upgrade” (People). Now, Biles has confirmed that they weren’t imagining things.
In a short TikTok video, Biles motions toward her chest and announces, “OK! What everyone has been waiting for. Let’s talk about it.”
Simone Biles Confirms Her Surgery — and Shares Every Detail
Wearing a fitted white tank and matching sweatpants, the superstar gymnast jumped right into the specifics: the date, the size, her surgeon, and even the healing process.
“I got my boobs done June 16. I got them done in Houston, Texas, by Dr. Kriti Mohan. She’s the best,” Biles shared. “We decided under the muscle was going to be the best option for me based on my inspiration photos to get the most natural look.”
Her explanation lines up with standard medical practices. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons notes that “under the muscle” placement — formally known as submuscular placement — involves positioning the implant beneath the pectoral muscle to create a more natural appearance (American Society of Plastic Surgeons).
Biles didn’t shy away from specifics. She revealed she chose 310cc high-profile, extra-filled silicone implants, adding that she briefly considered a slightly larger size but realized it wouldn’t align with her small but muscular frame.
She reminded viewers of her athletic proportions: 4’8”, 105 pounds, with strong shoulders, explaining that balance and proportion mattered just as much as aesthetics.
The Pain Was Real — And She Calls Out People Who Said Otherwise
The Olympic gold medalist has a famously high pain tolerance, but even she admitted that recovery hit harder than expected.
“Y’all lied. This mess hurts so bad,” she joked, calling out people online who said their recovery was easy.
“Hell no. Your girl could not move by herself.”
She described two extremely tough weeks during which her husband — Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens — stepped in to help with everything. She recalled, “On the very first day, Jonathan had to lift me out of bed. He had to physically pick me up and help me to the restroom.”
According to NBC News, recovery from submuscular placement can be more intense for patients with highly developed chest muscles, which aligns with Biles’ explanation that her athletic build contributed to the soreness (NBC News).
At First She Hated Them — Then They “Settled”
Biles admitted she initially panicked when she saw her implants for the first time.
“They were to my neck. I did freak out, and I did talk to my doctor and was like, take them out… because they looked like aliens at first. But now they’re perfect.”
She even shared details about the surgical technique: her doctor used a funnel-like device to insert the implants through tiny half-inch incisions, resulting in minimal scarring.
Fans flooded her comments with praise:
-
“The girls look perfect.”
-
“They definitely settled so good.”
-
“They look amazing and match perfectly.”
-
One fan even asked the question on every gymnast’s mind: “Will they affect the flips?”
Fans Weren’t Always So Supportive
While the reaction on TikTok was overwhelmingly positive, that wasn’t always the case. When Biles posted vacation photos from Belize back in July — wearing a black Fendi bikini — followers immediately zoomed in and began speculating.
Some thought the implants were too big, while others questioned her decision to alter her naturally athletic body. AP News noted that Biles has consistently maintained independence over her personal choices, particularly regarding her body, mental health, and career decisions (AP News).
Now that she’s confirmed she had surgery on June 16, it’s clear she was only about three weeks post-op during that trip — which explains why they looked larger and less settled at the time.
As experts often tell CNN Health, implants typically take several weeks to months to “drop and fluff” as they settle naturally (CNN).
Owning Her Decision — On Her Terms
Simone Biles has long been a symbol of strength, transparency, and autonomy. Whether she’s rewriting gymnastics history or setting boundaries for her mental and physical health, she has consistently prioritized doing what feels right for her.
Now, by openly addressing a topic many celebrities shy away from, she once again shows that she is — above all — relatable, honest, and in full control of her narrative.
