Boil green bananas this way

Bananas are not only delicious but can also be transformed into many appealing dishes. Among them, boiled green bananas are a favorite for many people. So, what are the benefits of eating boiled green bananas?

How to Boil Green Bananas Properly — Delicious and Nutritious

Ingredients:

  • 2–3 green bananas. Note: Choose large, firm bananas that are not too ripe or too young. Avoid those stored for too long.

  • A bowl of diluted salt water (1 liter of water + 1 tablespoon of salt).

  • A pot large enough for boiling.

Steps:

  1. Wash the green bananas thoroughly and cut off both ends.

  2. Soak the bananas in salted water for 15 minutes to remove dirt, pesticides, and sticky sap.

  3. Place the bananas in a pot, add enough water to fully cover them, then boil for 10–15 minutes until the skin darkens. Use chopsticks to pierce the banana—if it goes through easily, the banana is cooked.

  4. Remove and drain the bananas.

  5. Peel and enjoy! You can dip them in chili salt for extra flavor.
For best results, eat two bananas per day—one in the morning and one in the evening before meals. This dish is not only tasty but also supports weight loss effectively.

What Are the Health Benefits of Boiled Green Bananas?

1. Improve Digestion

Green bananas are rich in fiber, which supports digestive activity and helps prevent indigestion. When cooked, green bananas can ease stomach discomfort and support healthier bowel function.
If you experience digestive issues, adding boiled green bananas to your diet may help.

2. Regulate Blood Sugar Levels

Green bananas can enhance glucose absorption efficiency, helping stabilize blood sugar. Surprisingly, they are considered one of the best foods for people with type 2 diabetes.

They are also rich in vitamin B6, which participates in hundreds of enzymatic reactions—playing a key role in hemoglobin production, oxygen processing, and insulin regulation.

3. Support Prevention of Colon Cancer

Green bananas contain resistant starch that acts like a prebiotic, creating a favorable environment for beneficial gut bacteria. This helps prevent inflammation and reduces the risk of colon cancer.

4. Aid in Weight Loss

Eating green bananas helps you stay full longer thanks to their high fiber and starch content, which slow digestion and curb cravings.
They are also low in calories, making them ideal for weight-loss diets for both men and women.

5. Strengthen the Immune System

Most beneficial bacteria in the body rely on fiber to grow. About 90% of bacteria in our body are beneficial and contribute to immune function.
The fiber in green bananas supports these healthy bacteria, thus boosting immunity.

6. Improve Blood Filtration

Green bananas provide a high amount of potassium—an essential mineral that supports nerve function, blood filtration, and overall body mobility.
Each green banana contains over 500 mg of potassium.

According to the American Heart Association, adults need 4,700 mg of potassium per day.
However, excessive potassium intake is not suitable for everyone—especially individuals on dialysis—so they should consult their doctor before adding green bananas to their diet.

Green bananas offer numerous health benefits. So don’t just eat ripe bananas—don’t overlook the excellent benefits of boiled or steamed green bananas!
