Don't throw away the milk powder carton, punch a few holes and place it next to the bed, you will see the amazing effect

Everyone is surely familiar with powdered milk cans, especially families with small children. Throwing away the can after finishing the milk is such a waste — you can actually reuse it for many practical household purposes.

🧺 Step 1: Prepare the empty milk can

Start by getting an empty powdered milk can. Wash it thoroughly to remove any remaining milk powder inside, and let it dry completely.

🪛 Step 2: Make holes in the can

Next, use a nail to punch a few holes around the middle of the can. The holes should be evenly spaced and opposite each other.

Then, use a nail, scissors, or an awl to poke several small holes in the lid.

🧵 Step 3: Insert wire to form a mesh

Prepare a few thin metal wires and thread them through the holes you made around the can’s body. Cross the wires over each other to create a small metal mesh inside the can.

🌿 Step 4: Turn it into a mosquito coil holder

During summer, mosquitoes are everywhere, and most households burn mosquito coils to repel them. However, the ashes usually fall on the floor, making it messy and hard to clean.

You can reuse the empty milk can as a mosquito coil holder instead.

When using it, simply light the mosquito coil and place it inside the can, then close the lid.

The metal mesh will hold the coil in the middle, allowing ashes to fall neatly to the bottom. The small holes on the lid will let the fragrance spread around the room, effectively driving mosquitoes away.

♻️ Other Ways to Reuse Milk Cans

🌱 Use them as planters

You can repurpose milk cans, cookie tins, or tea boxes to plant small ornamental plants or herbs — saving money on flower pots.

Just spend a few minutes cleaning and decorating the cans, and you’ll have cute, eco-friendly mini planters.

Remember to poke some holes at the bottom for drainage!

🍴 Use them as kitchen utensil holders

You can pick cans of the same size, clean and decorate them, and use them to store kitchen tools such as spoons, forks, knives, and scissors.

Depending on your creativity and craft skills, you can decorate them in your own style to make them visually appealing and suitable for your kitchen space.
