I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Tom Read Wilson has certainly made an impression in the jungle, but his antics in camp during Friday's episode (November 21) have sparked mixed reactions from viewers. The Celebs Go Dating star, aged 39, took the opportunity to showcase his flair early on in the episode—singing, reciting Shakespeare, and even busting out some tap dancing—all within the first few minutes of the show.

The episode kicked off with a bit of dramatic flair, as Tom recited a Shakespearean sonnet to his fellow campmate Ruby Wax. Complaining about his bed—one of the more comfortable options in camp—and his lack of sleep, Tom headed down to the creek for a wash. Accompanied by Vogue and Ruby, he seized the moment to woo Ruby with his rendition of the famous line, “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” Vogue, on the other hand, stood by awkwardly, watching the performance unfold.

Ruby’s response, speaking in the Bush Telegraph later, suggested she was slightly puzzled by Tom’s theatrics. “I don’t know what land he comes from,” she joked, clearly baffled by his boldness.

The spectacle didn’t end there. Later in the episode, while washing in the creek, Tom’s singing was so loud that the other celebrities could hear him from the camp. This was followed by a more structured display of his charm, as Tom turned on the theatrics to impress the camp leaders. Lisa Riley, in an attempt to flatter him, compared his posture to that of former Strictly Come Dancing star Darcey Bussell. Tom, ever eager to entertain, responded by treating his fellow celebs to a tap dance, much to their amusement.

While Tom’s antics added a dose of energy to the camp, his behavior quickly divided viewers. On one side, some fans found his performances over the top and tiresome. One viewer tweeted, “Tom does my head in,” while another vented, “Tom Read-Wilson is one annoying [bleep]. Who is he and why is he acting like this? He’s so annoying I want to turn it over. Surely I’m not the only one...,” and a third complained, “Oh my god, the way Tom talks is driving me crazy!!!”

However, not everyone was put off by Tom’s exuberance. Many viewers took to social media to express their fondness for the star. “I thought Tom would annoy me, but he’s actually quite sweet,” one fan tweeted. Another admitted, “There was me thinking Tom was going to irritate me, but I’m really enjoying him. Feeling bad that I prejudged him because of his voice.” A third fan wrote, “I would LOVE to be friends with Tom. What a breath of fresh air,” while another added, “Tom is fab. There’s so much to him.
