I’m A Celebrity viewers ‘in tears’ as Jack Osbourne gets emotional over dad Ozzy’s death

Jack Osbourne Leaves I’m A Celebrity Viewers in Tears as He Opens Up About Dad Ozzy’s Death
I’m A Celebrity star Jack Osbourne has moved viewers to tears after opening up about how he is coping following the death of his father, rock icon Ozzy Osbourne. The Black Sabbath legend passed away three months ago at the age of 76, leaving behind a profound legacy in music and pop culture (BBC News; Rolling Stone). Jack, who has now entered the jungle for the latest season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, said he hopes to make his family proud during one of the most difficult moments of his life.
Following the launch episode, many fans believed Jack had the potential to win the series thanks to his grounded personality and positive attitude. However, in the November 17 episode, viewers witnessed an emotional moment when Jack broke down while speaking about Ozzy, leading to an outpouring of support across social media.
Jack Breaks Down Discussing Ozzy’s Final Months
While gathered around the campfire, fellow contestant Lisa Riley gently asked Jack how he was coping after his father’s death. Jack explained that although the family had known Ozzy was ill, the speed of his decline still came as a devastating shock. “It was definitely a shock. I mean, we knew he was sick for a while. But it was definitely a shock. We didn’t know it would be that quick,” Jack shared, visibly emotional.
Ozzy had experienced several years of serious health issues, including Parkinson’s disease, spinal injuries, and recurring infections, which had forced him to retire from touring in 2023 (The Guardian; Variety). Yet despite his health struggles, his final public appearance and performance had left a deep impact on Jack. Reflecting on that moment, Jack said, “It was the ultimate mic drop. He did a massive big gig and was like: ‘Alright, I’m done.’”
Lisa comforted him by saying that Ozzy would be incredibly proud of him for taking on the challenge of the jungle. She also opened up about her own grief, sharing that she, too, had lost her mother. Jack, touched by her words, responded, “He would be so supportive of this,” before Lisa added: “What a legacy to leave behind.”
Jack then shared a bittersweet comfort that has helped him through the grieving process: “I can hear him whenever I want.”
Later, appearing in the Bush Telegraph, Jack revealed just how fresh the wound still is. “I’m still navigating it all. It’s been three, nearly four months, and so it’s still pretty fresh,” he admitted. His honest reflections were praised as some of the most heartfelt scenes of the series so far (The Independent).
Fans Say “The Nation Is With You”
Immediately after the episode aired, the reaction online was overwhelming. Viewers took to X to express their support and empathy for Jack. One fan wrote, “Your dad was a legend, Jack.” Another added, “Oh Jack. I just want to give him a hug.”
Messages continued flooding in: “Jack Osbourne, the nation is with you, don’t worry mate,” one viewer posted. Others highlighted how moving the scene was, with one writing, “Aw. This conversation is beautiful. Some really emotional scenes. I’m so glad Jack is opening up to Lisa about this.”
Another viewer shared: “Jack talking about Ozzy has made me so emotional.”
Jack had already been widely described as the “most genuine” contestant in the camp after episode one (Metro UK), and the emotional moment seemed only to reinforce that perception. With his vulnerability, authenticity, and quiet strength, many fans now say Jack is their top pick to win the series.
A Tribute to Ozzy’s Legacy
Since Ozzy’s passing, tributes from around the world have poured in, with artists, fans, and media outlets honouring the Prince of Darkness for his groundbreaking contributions to rock and metal (NME). Jack has spoken previously about his father’s influence not only in music but also in their family life, describing him as a “fighter until the very end” (Sky News).
On I’m A Celebrity, Jack’s openness about his grief has given viewers a deeper insight into the personal side of the Osbourne family, reminding fans that behind Ozzy’s larger-than-life persona was a devoted father whose loss is deeply felt.
As the season continues, viewers are rooting for Jack not just as a contestant but as someone navigating heartbreak with remarkable honesty and strength. And if the early episodes are any indication, the nation is truly behind him.
