Mother Rushes To Emergency Room To Deliver Triplets: Then Nurses Look Closer At Their Faces And Freeze
I clearly remember the arrival of our first child. It was just four months ago—how could I ever forget? We were filled with joy and a mix of happy stress. But nothing prepares you for the moment when you realize your child literally cannot survive without you. You’re needed 24/7, day and night, until they grow. It’s a responsibility unlike anything else, one that takes priority over everything else. No feeling can truly compare to becoming a parent.
But this story is quite different. When Becki Allen heard the news from her doctors, she was in total disbelief! Her case, according to some statistics, was one in 200 million. A few years earlier, she had welcomed a beautiful daughter into the world and was excited to tell her that she would soon become a big sister. The happy family from Liverpool, England, dreamt of being a truly large family and planned to have more children. However, when they went for an ultrasound, they never expected what they saw: triplets! But that wasn’t all—these weren’t just any triplets; they were identical triplets!
Becki had been suffering from severe headaches during her pregnancy. Concerned, the doctors suggested an ultrasound to ensure everything was okay. Becki recalled, speaking to the Liverpool Echo, “It was the biggest shock of my life! We didn’t have any triplets in the family, so it was completely unexpected.” They had a name ready for one baby, but not for three! So, after some thought, they chose beautiful names for the three boys: Roman, Rocco, and Rohan—the “Triple R.”
The boys were delivered via Caesarean section at 31 weeks of pregnancy. Weighing between 3 to 5 pounds, they spent their first few weeks in intensive care. It’s not uncommon for triplets to face complications, and sadly, many don’t survive. But this family was lucky—these little fighters were all healthy and gained weight like champs.
After about a month in the intensive care unit, the boys were finally handed to the family. Doctors pointed out that the boys might not all be genetically identical, but Becki disagreed when she saw them together. After conducting DNA tests, it was confirmed—they were indeed genetically identical.
Identical triplets are an extremely rare occurrence. While many people may struggle to tell them apart, Becki said, “It’s only when they’re asleep that they look the same to me. But they each have distinct personalities. They all have dark birthmarks between their eyebrows, but Roman’s is slightly darker, and Rohan has a birthmark on his leg.”
Becki spends a small fortune just on diapers—about $100 every week for almost 150 diapers! She also buys five packs of wipes weekly.
Being a full-time parent to these three adorable little ones is no easy feat. Becki shared, “Indiana loves them. She’s not jealous at all. But I do feel a little sorry for her when I think about what it will be like growing up with three little brothers!” How could anyone not fall madly in love with these three boys?
I have one child and am forever grateful, but I can’t imagine having two more at once!
They are a lucky, happy, and most of all, a RICH family!
