“What…?”

The boy’s hands clenched into fists.

“She was sick… for a long time.”

The chapel disappeared.

The guests.

The wedding.

Everything.

“She made me promise… I had to find you today,” the boy continued, voice shaking.
“She said… the man with the white flower.”

Daniel slowly touched the rose on his suit.

“She said… even if she couldn’t come…”
“…you should still have a piece of her.”

Daniel let out a broken laugh that turned into a sob.

Years.

He had waited years—for letters that never came.

He thought she forgot him.

Moved on.

But she didn’t.

She stayed.

Until the very end.

The bride stepped closer, her voice barely steady.

“Daniel… what are you doing?”

He didn’t answer.

He couldn’t.

He just stared at the boy.

At Elena’s eyes… looking back at him.

“…Does he know?” Daniel whispered.

The boy hesitated.

“…She said you would understand.”

Daniel closed his eyes.

One tear fell onto the bracelet.

Then another.

When he opened them again—

everything had changed.

He stood up slowly.

The entire chapel watching.

Waiting.

He looked at the bride.

Then at the boy.

Then back at the bracelet.

And made a choice.

He reached out—

and took the boy’s hand.

Gasps filled the room.

“Daniel…” the bride whispered, terrified.

He turned toward the exit.

Didn’t look back.

“Wait!” she cried.

Daniel stopped for half a second—

just enough to whisper:

“…I already did.”

he walked out.

Not as a groom.

But as something he never knew he was.

A father.
