Tips for removing grease from an air fryer

Air Fryers: A Convenient Tool for Cooking Crispy and Delicious Food Without Oil
Air fryers are valuable assistants for frying and baking food to a crispy and delicious texture without the need for any oil, ensuring safety for health. However, after use, air fryers often accumulate grease and food residue, and many people neglect to clean the device after each use, making it difficult to remove the stains.
Cleaning the Air Fryer with Baking Soda
To clean the air fryer easily, you can use an item that is always available in every kitchen: baking soda.
To clean the air fryer easily, you can use an item that is always available in every kitchen: baking soda.
First, prepare a solution with 100ml of water and 3g of baking soda. Then, put the solution into a spray bottle and follow these steps:
Step 1: Unplug the air fryer and remove the food tray. Then, flip the air fryer upside down and spray the baking soda solution onto the upper part – the heating element of the fryer, including the spring area and the heating bars. Leave it for about 30 minutes.
Step 2: For households that do not regularly clean the air fryer and have a lot of food residue built up, spray another layer of baking soda mixture onto the heating element and wait for an additional 15-30 minutes to fully clean the stains.
Step 3: Pour about 400ml of water into the fryer tray. Then, place the tray back into the fryer, turn it on, and set the temperature to 200°C for 20 minutes. To quickly remove any lingering odors and loosen stubborn food stains, you can squeeze two lemons into the water.
Step 4: Soak the food basket in a mixture of hot water and dish soap to help remove any dried food residue stuck in the fryer. If the stains are too stubborn, you can use a soft brush to scrub them away.
Cleaning the Air Fryer with Dish Soap
In addition to the baking soda mixture, dish soap is also an effective and quick solution for cleaning the air fryer. Use a soft cloth dipped in dish soap to gently wipe all surfaces of the air fryer. To ensure safety and avoid damaging the quality of the fryer, it’s recommended to use organic dish soap.
Using this type of dish soap will help remove stubborn grease and food stains that accumulate during cooking. After cleaning with dish soap, wipe the fryer again with warm water to ensure all dirt is removed. Finally, dry it with a soft cloth and store it in a dry place to avoid dust.
Important Notes When Cleaning the Air Fryer
Although air fryers are resistant to heat and wear, using harsh cleaning agents can damage the non-stick coating and affect the fryer’s lifespan.
Using knives, spoons, or hard objects to scrape stains can scratch the surface of the fryer. Instead, use a soft sponge or a brush to clean it.
To keep the air fryer in good condition and ensure it works well, it’s recommended to clean the fryer after each use. This not only helps extend the life of the fryer but also ensures that your food always retains its delicious flavor.
