According to a report from the American Cancer Society, diets high in fat, low in vegetables and fruits, and regular consumption of processed foods can increase the risk of colorectal, stomach, and breast cancers.

Unhealthy eating habits followed by the entire family can lead to similar cancer risks for all. Processed foods containing preservatives, artificial colors, and refined sugars not only lead to obesity—a major risk factor for cancer—but also disrupt metabolic processes, creating an environment conducive to the development of cancer cells. Additionally, unhealthy eating is closely linked to other chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease, indirectly raising the likelihood of developing cancer.

To reduce the risk of cancer, families should work together to change their daily habits:

  • Schedule regular health check-ups: Routine health screenings can help detect abnormalities early, increasing the chances of successful treatment.

Small, consistent changes can significantly reduce the risk of cancer and help cultivate healthy habits for future generations. According to the WHO, prevention is the most effective way to reduce cancer rates, and the family is the most important foundation for creating a safe living environment.
