After the accident, the man became disabled. Once strong, confident, and a successful businessman. Now — in a wheelchair, dependent on help, quiet and almost invisible. To his wife, he was no longer a person, but a burden… a beautiful but useless object that just stood there and gave nothing.

She couldn’t leave him. In case of divorce, she would get nothing. But if her husband “accidentally” died… everything would go to her.

And then a plan formed in the mind of the cunning and cruel woman.

She suggested going to a waterfall. A romantic trip, fresh air, beautiful views — everything seemed perfect. The man hesitated at first, but his wife was suddenly affectionate, attentive, even tender. He agreed.

The lover came with them too — supposedly as a family friend.

That day felt too calm.

They went all the way to the edge. Below — a huge abyss, the sound of water, mist. The rocks were wet and slippery. One wrong step — and it would all be over.

The man sat in his wheelchair, looking at the waterfall. The wind moved his hair, and his eyes were strangely calm.

The wife stood behind him. The lover approached from the side.

And in that moment, the man understood everything.

— Don’t do this… please… — he said quietly, without even turning around. — I know what you’re planning… I’ll do whatever you say.

They froze for a second. Then exchanged a glance.

— Too late, — the woman replied coldly.

The man turned to them. There was no panic in his eyes. Only exhaustion.

— I have no one left… — he said softly. — Please…

But they had already made their decision. The lover suddenly pushed the wheelchair.

A moment — and it rolled toward the edge. The wheels slipped on the wet stone… and the man disappeared into the abyss. They didn’t even look down.

The woman covered her face with her hands, pretending to be horrified. The lover began to shout:

— He fell! It was an accident! Help!

They were almost ready to believe in their victory. But not even a minute passed… when something unexpected happened.

From below, a voice was heard. Loud. Clear.

— Don’t celebrate too soon.

The lovers froze.

From the mist, silhouettes began to appear. Several men. And with them… the disabled husband. Alive. Wet, but alive.

The woman turned pale.

— How… is that possible?..

He slowly lifted his head and looked at them.

— I’ve known everything for a long time.

It turned out he had accidentally overheard their conversation a few days before the trip. At first, he didn’t believe it. Then he checked. And realized: it was true.

And then he came up with his own plan.

He transferred all his assets to other people. Prepared the documents. And on the day of the trip, he had already arranged with a rescue team waiting below.

He knew they would do it. He simply gave them the chance.

— Now you have nothing, — he said calmly. — No money. No freedom.

At that moment, the police arrived.

The woman started screaming, trying to justify herself. The lover took a step back.

But it was already too late.
