Amy Schumer responds after John Cena admitted shocking scene where he was ‘inside her’ was ‘real embarrassing’

Amy Schumer has hilariously responded after John Cena admitted their unforgettable scene in Trainwreck was “real embarrassing” to film. The comedian’s playful comeback has reignited buzz around one of the rom-com’s most iconic moments.

Comedian Amy Schumer has delivered a witty response after wrestling star-turned-actor John Cena admitted that filming their notorious bedroom scene in Trainwreck left him feeling extremely embarrassed. The playful back-and-forth has reignited interest in one of the film’s most memorable moments.

Back in 2015, Trainwreck introduced audiences to a fictionalized version of Amy, a commitment-phobic magazine writer shaped by her father’s cynical views on relationships. Throughout the movie, she enjoys a string of chaotic and often hilarious encounters before unexpectedly falling for a kind-hearted sports doctor named Aaron, played by Bill Hader. But before her character finds true love, she has a fling with Steven — a muscle-bound gym fanatic portrayed by none other than John Cena.

The scene between Schumer and Cena quickly became one of the film’s most talked-about highlights. In it, Amy encourages Steven to be more adventurous, urging him to “mix it up a little” and speak in a daring way. Cena’s character, however, struggles to improvise, delivering awkwardly funny lines like, “I’ll fill you with protein” and “I’ll put my green drink in you.” The result was an over-the-top comedic sequence that had audiences in stitches.

Recently, Cena reflected on the experience during an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast. He admitted that filming the scene was anything but intimate, pointing out the large crew present on set: “People think it’s just two people in a room, but there’s an entire world behind the camera. There’s nothing private about it.” He went on to describe the process as “real embarrassing,” especially since the moment required him to poke fun at himself in such a vulnerable way.

In response, Schumer took to social media with her signature humor. Posting a broken-heart emoji, she teased Cena: “John, how dare you? That scene meant a lot to me, and I was really into it. Honestly, I think I’m in love with you.” Fans quickly flooded the comments, delighted by the comedian’s playful clapback.

Despite his discomfort, Cena praised Schumer for creating a supportive and lighthearted environment during filming. “Amy is an angel,” he said. “She made the set comfortable. Eventually, the team told me, ‘We want you to do this wild, exaggerated stunt scene,’ and I just had to roll with it.”

Schumer, for her part, has joked about the scene on several occasions. On an Australian talk show, she quipped about how difficult it was to keep a straight face, even going so far as to compare Cena’s overwhelming screen presence to being pinned under a refrigerator. In another interview, she added: “Honestly, it was probably harder for him. He had to perform, while I just did what I usually do — stay still and let it happen.”

Cena has since revealed that the production team provided him with special wardrobe assistance, including a modesty garment, to ensure professionalism during filming. Still, the scene remains a standout moment in both stars’ careers, blending physical comedy, awkward tension, and just the right amount of shock factor to cement Trainwreck as one of the decade’s funniest rom-coms.
