Cruz Beckham, the 20-year-old youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham, has been officially banned from driving after receiving two separate speeding tickets — a setback that has reportedly left him frustrated and disappointed.

According to the Daily Mail, Cruz is said to be “gutted” about losing his license, though those close to the family say the infraction was the result of increasingly common speed-limit traps. “It was [over] a couple of speeding tickets, which are so easy to come by these days with 20-mile-per-hour zones,” a source explained. “It’s infuriating.” Despite the frustration, the insider added that Cruz has ultimately “accepted it and taken it on the chin,” understanding that he must now go through the necessary steps to drive legally again.

One of the tickets occurred on September 2. Cruz addressed the incident himself on Instagram, telling followers that he had been “doing 24 in a 20,” subtly suggesting the offense was minor but still enforceable. He later shared a quote from Wes Anderson’s Phoenician Scheme: “Games gone. Myself I feel very safe,” hinting at a mix of irony and resignation following the penalty.
To regain his license, the young musician will need to reapply for a provisional license and then retake both the theory test and the practical driving exam — a process that will likely delay his ability to get back on the road for several months.

Representatives for David, Victoria, and Cruz did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment. Cruz originally earned his driver’s license in September 2023 and celebrated the milestone with a casual, joyful trip to McDonald’s. At the time, David Beckham praised his son on Instagram, commenting, “Well done mate… love you x.”

David, 50, and Victoria, 51, share four children in total: Brooklyn, 26; Romeo, 23; Cruz, 20; and Harper, 14. Despite the family’s public image of unity, their eldest son Brooklyn has reportedly been estranged from the rest of the Beckham clan for some time, creating ongoing speculation about internal tensions.

Those rumors intensified in July when Cruz posted a series of pointed Instagram Notes that many interpreted as thinly veiled jabs at Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz. Among his cryptic messages: “Oh it’s stockholm syndrome,” along with other posts referencing someone who was “dead to” him and deserving “instant karma.” While fans debated the meaning, Cruz continued to appear publicly aligned with Romeo, Harper, and his parents, attending family vacations and supporting Victoria at the premiere of her recent Netflix documentary.

Beyond the family dynamics, Cruz has also been in the headlines for his relationship with songwriter Jackie Apostel, 29. The couple’s nine-year age difference sparked scrutiny online, prompting Apostel to defend their relationship publicly last month. “He’s kind, funny, smart, caring, driven, mature, talented, loyal, and also quite handsome,” she told critics, making it clear that she stands firmly behind him.

As Cruz works through the process of regaining his license, he appears to be focusing on his music career, family relationships, and his growing public persona — even as the occasional controversy continues to follow the Beckham name.
