When it comes to the world of YouTube, few names are as dominant as Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson. While creators like Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg, KSI, and Jenna Marbles all built huge followings and made their mark on the platform, their success in recent years has largely been overshadowed by MrBeast’s meteoric rise.

Not only has he overtaken children’s entertainment giant Cocomelon to become the most-subscribed channel on YouTube, but Donaldson has also expanded his brand far beyond viral videos. His ventures include Feastables, a snack company; Lunchly, a food subscription service; and MrBeast Burger, a delivery-only restaurant chain. He has also broken records on Amazon with Beast Games, a large-scale competition series inspired by Squid Game.

With such a massive public profile, it’s no surprise that MrBeast has occasionally found himself in the headlines for less-than-positive reasons. These have included allegations of mistreatment on the set of Beast Games, criticism over his “Las Vegas experience” video (with some branding him a scammer), and even backlash from Mexico over one of his projects.

Still, public fascination with MrBeast hasn’t waned. In fact, speculation about his net worth has only grown—especially as rumors swirl about ambitious new projects, such as a potential real-life Hunger Games. These ventures would likely keep both his content output and his income stream strong. After clapping back at Forbes earlier this year, claiming he was the highest-paid creator of 2025 with earnings of $85 million, Donaldson has now given what might be his clearest hint yet about his financial worth.

It has long been rumored that MrBeast’s net worth hovers around $1 billion, though Donaldson has previously joked that he’s had to borrow money from his own mother. During a livestream with fellow creator Adin Ross, Ross asked him point-blank:

“Jimmy, are you a billionaire? Be honest.”

In an uncharacteristically candid moment, Donaldson replied:

“Yeah. What would you say the largest YouTube channel in the world is worth?”

Given that his videos have been viewed over 92 billion times—not to mention his numerous business ventures—that valuation could indeed be substantial. Adding fuel to the speculation, recent funding discussions have suggested his company might be valued at an astounding $5 billion. Such resources would certainly help explain how he’s able to give away prizes as extravagant as $2.5 million private jets to contest winners.

However, the picture looks different when it comes to cash on hand. In a February 2025 interview on Steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO podcast, MrBeast revealed:

“In my actual bank account, I have less than $1 million. [I pay myself] a little bit, but I also have some assistants and things like that, so I try to pay myself what I spend personally, a month, just to stay even.”

This revelation sparked debate online. Some fans argued that while his assets and company may be worth a billion dollars, that doesn’t mean he has that amount in liquid cash. One person wrote: “He owns assets that’s worth a billion but he doesn’t have a billion in his bank account.” Another reminded others: “U guys forgetting he has multiple accounts with 20M+ subs 😭🙏.” A third commenter summed it up by noting the difference between being “rich” and being “wealthy”: “He’s worth a billion… same as Elon, he said he doesn’t have a billion but he’s worth billions.”

Whether his billionaire status is measured on paper or in cold, hard cash, one thing is clear: MrBeast’s influence and business empire place him in a league of his own among content creators. And with no shortage of bold ideas in the pipeline, both his audience and his fortune seem set to keep growing.
