Katie Price Reignites Tensions Over Daughter Princess Andre, Urges Teen to “Tell the Truth”

Katie Price / Princess Andre

Katie Price has once again stirred headlines after reigniting her public feud surrounding daughter Princess Andre. In the latest episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, the 47-year-old reality star expressed frustration over her exclusion from Princess’ ITV2 reality series The Princess Diaries, while also taking aim at her ex-husband Peter Andre.

Background: The Princess Diaries Controversy

Earlier this year, Princess’ fly-on-the-wall series debuted on ITV2, offering viewers a glimpse into her personal and professional life. While Peter Andre and his wife Emily appeared in the programme, Katie was notably absent.

A source told MailOnline that producers were “adamant” about keeping the documentary authentic and unstaged, suggesting Katie’s inclusion might compromise the show’s focus on Princess’ current life. Katie admitted in August that she cried over the decision, saying: “I’m so upset. It’s my daughter. I want to be involved.”

Princess later clarified in an interview with The Guardian that she had not personally banned her mother from appearing. “Because I’m living with Dad at the moment, he was in it more. It was never true that I said I didn’t want her in it,” she explained.

Katie’s Latest Podcast Remarks

On her podcast, Katie revealed she would be attending events with Kerry Katona’s daughter, Heidi, instead of Princess. “She’s staying with me for a month, she’s going to come to events with me. So when I’m pictured with Heidi at events, it isn’t weird,” Katie said.

She then vented her frustration: “Why is Princess hanging around with Heidi and doing stuff, but I’m not allowed to with Princess? It’s [bleep].”

Katie also claimed Princess avoids posting about either parent online, adding: “She only has to say a few things [on her platform]. The truth.”

Swipe at Peter Andre

Katie’s sister Sophie joined the podcast discussion, suggesting Peter and Emily’s withdrawal from season two of The Princess Diaries might have been an opportunity to include Katie instead. Katie agreed, calling the offer to use old YouTube footage of her “insulting.”

This latest jab continues a long-running tension between Katie and Peter, whose divorce in 2009 was followed by years of public disputes. According to The Independent, their relationship has often been scrutinised in the press, with disagreements over co-parenting frequently making headlines.

Public Reaction and Broader Context

Fans remain divided. Some sympathise with Katie’s desire to be included in her daughter’s life, while others argue that Princess, now 18, should have autonomy over her career choices. Media analysts note that celebrity families often struggle with balancing authenticity and parental involvement in reality programming. As BBC News has reported, producers increasingly prioritise “unfiltered narratives” to appeal to younger audiences, which can sideline more established celebrity parents.

Looking Ahead

With Princess’ representatives declining to comment, it remains unclear how the mother-daughter dynamic will evolve. Katie insists she and Princess are “best friends” and have “never had an argument,” but her public remarks suggest ongoing tension.

As The Guardian observed in its coverage of The Princess Diaries, Princess is attempting to carve out her own identity separate from her famous parents—a challenge many children of celebrities face. Whether Katie’s latest comments will strain or strengthen their bond remains to be seen.
