A man who bought a laundromat for $15,000 shares the eye-watering amount of money it made him in just a few days.
Side hustles have become more valuable in today's economy due to rising living costs across the board.
Content creators like MrBeast have certainly demonstrated the massive earning potential of platforms like YouTube.
According to CNBC, YouTube has paid out over $100 billion to creators, artists and media companies in the past four years alone. While that figure is spread among roughly 69 million creators as per DemandSage data, it still represents powerful opportunities for those wishing to pursue content creation.
Elsewhere in the digital space, content creators are finding ways to monetise without even showing their faces, with some channels proving that daily AI-generated 'slop' can be profitable.
However, one entrepreneur has explored a more hands-on, physical business approach to earning extra money, which has shocked viewers with its high earning potential.
A TikTok creator who goes by Investmentjoy describes himself as a 'poor kid who now owns laundromats, carwashes & more,' and recently shared how lucrative a laundromat can be.
"Hey guys, I bought a laundromat for $15,000," the business owner explained in his video. "Let's see if we made any money over the last three days."
The TikToker filmed his Monday money collection routine, showing exactly how much revenue his coin-operated laundromat generated over a single weekend period., showing exactly how much revenue his coin-operated laundromat generated over a single weekend period.
Using a coin counter, he tallied up the quarters and other coins from the washing machines and dryers, which totalled $448.75 over the three-day period. However, the real surprise came when he counted the bills.
"That's over a $1,000, way over $1,000 in just ones and fives," he announced while feeding the cash through a bill counter. "This is the best count we've ever done."

The final tally from the bill counter showed $4,074, bringing the total weekend revenue to just under $4,500 for laundry services.
Viewers were stunned by both the revenue figures.
"Roughly 4500-5000 in two weeks. Not bad," one user calculated.
"Ummmmmm how did you manage that?!" another TikTok user asked in disbelief.
"A laundromat that still takes coins and cash?? Wow," someone else commented.
Others were amazed at the low initial investment required to enter the laundromat business.
"15k seems like a steal," a viewer replied, while another questioned: "So you spent 15,000 but what do you pay in electricity and mortgage , do you actually profit ?"
