Putin caught discussing 'immortality' with Chinese president in jaw-dropping clip

Some of the most influential leaders in the world have gathered at a military parade in Beijing, and while President Donald Trump claims he's not worried about Vladimir Putin meeting with Kim Jong Un and Xi Jinping, the rest of the world is watching closely.

After Russia’s President raised concerns about the possibility of World War III, questions have been raised about the durability of the uneasy alliance between the U.S. and Russia and how it might end.

At a highly anticipated press briefing following his unexplained absence, Trump assured the public that he wasn't concerned about a potential 'axis' between China and Russia, stating: "I am not concerned at all... We have the strongest military in the world, by far. They would never use their military on us. Believe me."

However, with Xi Jinping hosting Putin and calling him an 'old friend', Trump’s tone on Truth Social suggests otherwise. The former President took to the platform to send a pointed message: "Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un as you conspire against the United States of America." It’s clear from the Beijing meeting that China and Russia’s leaders were rather cozy, even having a hot mic moment where they discussed immortality.

Captured by Chinese state TV in a livestream, the moment featured Putin, Xi, and Kim Jong Un walking through the historic Tiananmen Square.

As reported by the BBC, the conversation was translated into Russian for Putin and into Mandarin for Xi.

Xi reportedly said: "In the past, it used to be rare for someone to be older than 70, and these days they say that at 70, one is still a child."

After an inaudible reply from Putin, the translator continued: "With the development of biotechnology, human organs can be continually transplanted, and people can live younger and younger, and even achieve immortality."

Xi’s translator added: "Predictions are that, by the end of this century, people may even live to 150 years old." Russian state news agency Tass later quoted Putin, saying: "Modern recovery methods, medical procedures, and even organ replacements, allow humanity to hope that we will have a longer, active life than we do today. Life expectancy varies by country, but it will significantly increase." The world leaders have been discussing the idea of immortality (SERGEY BOBYLEV / Contributor / Getty)

The average global life expectancy in 2025 is projected to be 73.5 years, a massive increase from just 32 years in 1925. Yet, for 72-year-old Putin and Xi, this still may not seem like enough.

While it may sound like a dystopian conversation, discussing organ transplants and extended life, it's no surprise given the vast power and resources at their disposal. It seems unlikely this was just a casual exchange between the two leaders.

This wasn’t the only futuristic topic they discussed. Xi also inspected cutting-edge military technology, such as hypersonic missiles and naval drones, declaring that the world stands on the brink of either "peace or war."
